The property: A converted barn with airy 2 bedroom accommodation and views of the highest peaks in the Pyrénées. Glass doors lead to an open plan kitchen/lounge and shower room with tiled floor throughout and exposed beams. The fitted kitchen area with window, has a range of cupboards and work surfaces, dining table and chairs. The shower room includes WC/basin and top loading washing machine. The lounge area, with window, has a settee and two easy chairs, radio/CD, DVD, TV with satellite connection and phone point. There is a wood burning stove and electric storage radiator heating to give comfortable accommodation, whatever the weather. An open wooden staircase leads to the two bedrooms which overlook the garden, both with large windows and exposed beams. Each has ensuite WC/washbasin, drawers/hanging facilities, one with king size and one with twin beds.

Outside Area: The gîte has a private seating area, surrounded by shrubs. Guests are able to relax at a patio table which comfortably seats 4/6 people, or on warm days, cook al fresco on the BBQ. The main garden is shared with the owners, and is made up of separate areas of lawn, shrubs and trees. The 10 metre by 5 metre fenced pool, open from May to October, is a short walk through the garden, and is 4 foot deep throughout, with walk in steps at one end, and is surrounded by a sun terrace. A large open barn adjacent to the accommodation provides covered car parking.

Surrounding Area: Situated in a quiet, rural setting, a 5 minute drive from the Bastide town of Trie sur Baïse, where there is amongst other facilities, a regular Tuesday market, Tourist Office, supermarkets, post office, chemists, doctors, dentist, bars and an English grocery. The 13th century Monastere de Calmes hosts a number of classical musical soirees during the year. Markets are held in many of the surrounding towns, all offering local produce such as Armagnac and Foie Gras. During the summer, numerous fetes and festivals take place in the area, with live music and entertainments, including an international Country & Western festival 20 minutes away at Mirande in July, an international Jazz festival in August at Marciac, 40 minutes away. Trie has a week long fête in July, and also hosts a 2 day Antiques fayre. There are many local routes for walkers and cyclists, nearby lakes for the fishermen, and courses for the keen golfer. The Pyrenean National Park offers skiing and other winter sports, whilst in summer the active adventurer can hike, go canyoning, paragliding or horseriding. There are many prehistoric caves to visit across the Pyrénées, Biarritz and the sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are an easy day trip, whilst you can be over the mountains into Spain within an hour. Large towns of interest are Toulouse with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, and Pau, with its Chateau, numerous shops, and more parks per population head than any other town in France.
