Surrounding Area: The village is near Sauve, between the Roman towns of Nimes and Montpellier and 50 minutes from the coast. The village shop sells most things. There is a boulangerie and butcher comes on a Thursday.

The area of Languedoc Roussillon enjoys long hot summers and colder winters as the house is at the foot of the Cevennes mountains where skiing is possible in some months of the year. The scenery is majestic and varied. Within an hour you can be overlooking amazing gorges and canoeing down rivers or swimming in waterfalls. Alternatively for those who want more relaxation the sandy beaches are under an hour’s drive away. There are many rambling trails for keen hikers and for art lovers ample scope for visits to sites of cultural interest like the Roman amphitheatre in Nimes, or the Van Gogh Museum in Arles. The magnificent Pont du Gard is within easy reach.

Festivals and markets abound, particularly in the summer months and Avignon is a particular favourite with tourists.
