Outside Area: This large. peaceful garden of nearly 3000 square metres is shared with the owners. It is a mature garden with oak, olive and pine trees and an abundance of broom, rosemary, lavender and wild thyme. In summer the 5 x 10 metre swimming pool is a haven of tranquillity and has views as far as Les Alpilles Mountains near St Remy de Provence. There is ample parking space. |

Surrounding Area: Cabrieres has all the advantages of being within the Luberon National Park yet not overwhelmed by tourists. It’s a sleepy Mediaeval village in a south facing position on a hillside facing the Luberon Mountains. This area has an above average sunshine record. Facilities within walking distance: best baker in the area, grocer, butcher, library, post office, honey shop, and restaurants. Organic shop nearby. The villages made famous by Peter Mayle are well within half an hour’s drive and Gordes (‘un des plus beau village de France’) is even closer. Isle sur la Sorgue with its canals and famous Sunday antique market is just around the corner as is the beautiful village of Fontaine de Vaucluse. Provencal markets are daily in this region (some close in mid winter). The surrounding countryside has vineyards, lavender and sunflower fields, wooded hillsides, ochre cliffs, gorges and gullies. For the active there are walking trails from the doorstep, tennis courts in the village, golf, horse riding, canoeing and hot air ballooning all nearby. The historic cities of Arles, Avignon, Aix, Nimes, Orange, St Remy de Provence, Vaison La Romaine are all easy drives away as are the Carmargue and sandy beaches near Marseille.
