The property: The cottage, although attached to the main house, is totally private. It can be divided into 2 self contained gîtes or one large one. It is all at ground floor level and is disabled friendly. The property is approximately 250 years old. The smallest unit comprises 1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom, a large shower room (disabled friendly), a large fully equipped kitchen, and a large sitting room with a dining area. The larger unit comprises 2 double bedrooms (one with extra single bed), bathroom, kitchen and large sitting room with dining area.

Both units can be combined to give a very spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with generous kitchen and two living/dining room areas.

The furniture is comfortable with sofas, chairs, sofa beds, large farmhouse dining tables and well supplied kitchens. We have been complimented several times on the comfort of our beds !!!

Outside Area: There is a private garden with outdoor furniture and B.B.Q. within a large informal garden. Owner’s 5 acre paddock could be shared if you have a horse. Undercover parking is close to the house.

Ancient woodlands surround the paddock on 2 sides. Fields with cows and sheep as well as oilseed rape, sunflowers and cereal crops surround the property. There is a large variety of birds for enthusiasts and the spring flowers are magnificent.

Surrounding Area: Le Flouzet is situated 2 kilometres from the village of Vasles. Vasles is a typical small market town with two restaurants and bars, a boulangerie, butcher, bank, small village supermarket and hardware store. There are two golf courses close by.

We are halfway between the historic medieval town of Parthenay of Knights Templar fame and the ancient City of Poitiers. Poitiers airport (Ryanair from Stanstead) is 40 minutes away. We are strategically located to visit the coast at La Rochelle through the Venise Verte, Futuroscope, Saumur – home to the world famous Cadre Noir army horses; the Loire valley and Cognac are all within driving distance.

Pricing Info: From 300 – 500 pounds sterling per month (450 -750 euros). Pricing differs depending on size of accommodation required. Utilities included, one set of linens included. Rent to be paid by standing order one month in advance in euros into our French bank. One month’s rent required as deposit.
