The property: The large open plan living area has exposed oak beams and feature granite fire place, with a large wood burner, furnished with large comfy sofas, TV/DVD & satellite with surround sound, and hi-fi, and a selection of over 300 films. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay more comfortable, with gas hob & electric oven /extractor, fridge/freezer washing machine and dishwasher, combi microwave, and plenty of matching glasses and crockery. There is also an extendable dining table that seats 8. Downstairs there is a shower room, with shower cubicle with heated towel rail, and toilet. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, one double which also has a very comfortable single sofa bed for a 7th person if required, a twin room with TV & video, and a second double with lovely views of the valley, there is also an upstairs toilet, all bedrooms are tastefully furnished and have oil filled heaters and plenty of storage. |

Outside Area: Les Deserts stands in its own large well maintained gardens, and has beautiful views of the Normandy countryside. With no direct neighbours it is incredibly peaceful. The south facing terrace has a gazebo with table & chairs/Barbecue, which over looks the neighbouring pine forest, its a beautiful place to sit and relax and maybe spot some of the local wildlife such as Deer, Red squirrels, Hares and many different types of bird that visit the garden, and if you are lucky, Wild boar. There is also a large wooden plunge pool with sunloungers, sandpit and children’s play equipment. |

Surrounding Area: The nearest large town is Vire (Calvados) which is a 15 minute drive, and has a large selection of shops/restaurants, it also has at least 4 supermarkets, a museum, and holds a market every Friday, you can also catch the train from Vire to Paris. There are two other smaller towns which are nearer, Tinchebray (Orne) which is 10 minutes away, and Sourdeval (Manche) also about 10 minutes, both have supermarkets and shops and also hold weekly markets, also within an hours drive is Caen, and the D-Day beaches and museums, the lovely sea side town of Granville, the Mont St Michel and Villedieu De Poules which is famous for its manufacture of copper pans, and slightly further afield you have Honfleur. There are also some lovely walks/cycling in the surrounding area. |
