The property: An old stone barn has recently been converted into a two storey property with the use of timber cladding in chestnut wood (Le Châtaignier means chestnut tree in French) The use of a high level of insulation means that the cottage is easy to heat in the winter months and it helps keep it cool in the summer months. The downstairs living area has two settees (one of which is a good quality double bed settee), sideboard, dining table and chairs, and a coffee table. The kitchen area has a full cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, and washing machine and provides ample cupboard space. It is well stocked with all the equipment and crockery etc needed for everyday living. Rugs, cushions and reading lamps help provide a welcoming atmosphere for the colder winter evenings. Satellite TV with the main UK channels is available and there are DVD and CD players, plus a wide selection of books and games. Beautiful wooden, open-tread stairs lead from the living/dining area to the upstairs bedroom and separate shower-room. The bedroom is a good size with a high ceiling, and has a king-size bed, two bed-side tables and a large fitted wardrobe. It has views over the garden and the swimming pool. The shower-room is spacious with shower cubicle, w.c, sink and heated towel rail. |
