The 3 upstairs bedrooms are all a good size with high ceilings and ample storage facilities for your clothes and have views either over the garden or the orchard. There is an upstairs bathroom (with an over bath shower) and a downstairs shower-room with w.c.

Outside Area: The large private patio area has its own table, chairs and sun parasol and a barbeque is available. The patio opens onto a very large walled garden, shared with the owners and the other 2 cottages and there is also an adjoining field and orchard. A 10 x 5 metre pool is available in the summer months and private parking is provided. There is a large playbarn with table-tennis and table football and other outdoor games are available. There is a selection of bikes available for your use.

Surrounding Area: The attractive market town of St Jean d’Angely is only 10 kilometres away and is ideal for all you shopping needs as well as having a good selection of restaurants. The village of Ste Même has its own small grocery shop, a part-time Post Office and a pub/restaurant. Close by are Saintes (20 minutes) and Cognac (30 minutes) and La Rochelle, Royan and Rochefort are approx an hour’s drive away. The coast can be reached in 50 minutes. The local countryside is a mixture of wide-open fields, rolling countryside and vineyards dotted with small villages, many with beautiful Romanesque churches. The valleys of the Charente and the Boutonne provide many a picturesque walk and the local roads are ideal for cycling. Horse riding, tennis, golf, go-karting, kayaking are all provided in the local area.

Pricing Info: The first month’s rental is payable on booking. Subsequently, the month’s rental will be payable 5 days before the beginning of each month. A refundable breakages/damages deposit of 200 euros will be required. There will be a charge of 75 euros a month to cover electricity and gas. Two sets of bed linen and towels will be provided at no cost. (Laundry to be undertaken by tenants.)
