The property: This delightful studio-apartment is located on the ground floor of our large traditional town house. It is one of two self-contained apartments. The décor is Mediterranean in style with marble floors, shuttered windows and painted walls. It has a bright modern kitchen with full cooker, fridge, microwave and a good size round table and two chairs. There is access to a washing machine, tumble drier and freezer in the house laundry. The shower-room/WC is tiled. The bed-sitting room has two full size single beds, two bentwood chairs, a coffee table, a television with video combined and ample shelving. The windows and French doors are double-glazed and the apartment is easy to heat during the winter months.

Outside Area: The bed-sitting room opens out onto a large south facing garden terrace which provides a lovely outside space for relaxing or eating when the weather allows, which is during most of the months of the year. The terrace border is planted with purple bougainvillea, honeysuckle, vines and olive. Next door`s lemon tree bears fruit from December til March. Within a few minutes flat walk of the apartment you are at the shops or in one of the town`s cafés. A few minutes more will take you out into amazing countryside where the scenery is awe inspiring.

Surrounding Area: Ille-sur-Tet holds a market twice weekly throughout the year. There are also excellent markets held in near-by towns. Prades market is considered one of the biggest and best around. Ille-sur-Tet`s old walled town dates back to medieval times and the religious architecture of the local abbeys is astounding. Cathar country starts about half an hour`s drive away. In autumn the vines turn rustic red, in winter you see lemons and oranges growing in neighbours`gardens. In spring comes the pink peach and vibrant yellow mimosa blossom and often Mount Canigou is snow-capped from late October to May. Mediterranean beaches are all within 45 minutes drive. Spain and the Costa Brava are within an hour and Barcelona is 2.5 hours from Perpignan by train. As Ille-sur-Tet has its own bus and train service, there is no need to travel always by car. There is plenty of opportunity to fish in the River Tet or in the local lakes. The nearest ski slope, Les Angles, is about 1.5 hour`s drive. This is also great cycling territory. Lanes through the peach and nectarine orchards provide miles of undisturbed cycling track.

Pricing Info: £350 per calendar month September to May. £50 reduction for single occupancy. This price is based on a minimum of three month’s rental. A non-refundable deposit of £75 is required with the booking. One month’s rental to be paid as a security deposit at the beginning of the rental which will be returned at the end of the rental following inspection of the property and the final payment of utility bills.

Availability: Available for long lets from September to May on a 3 monthly basis.
