Surrounding Area: There is a wealth places of historical interest to visit on both sides of the border (Spain is 20 minutes away) and a broad range of sporting activities (including ski slopes about 90 minutes inland).

There is a vibrant cultural life in Roussillon during the winter (concerts, theaters, cinemas etc). There is a major antiques fair at the beginning of November. There is Christmas market in the Castle. Hogmanay is a big event with dancing on the quay and fireworks.
