The property: The original Farmhouse dates back to the 18th century. A traditional French Longiere has the benefit of very few stairs, only two leading into the bedroom area and three from the kitchen to the dining room. The tiles in the lounge, kitchen and one of the bedrooms are original and unique for the area. In the lounge we have installed a wood burning fire which gives heat and a warm glow on the cooler evenings in spring and winter, comfortably furnished and has TV, DVD, video, hi-fi and cd's, plus books and games for all ages. The oil fired central heating provides warmth throughout the gîte. Anjou has a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen as well as a separate bathroom and toilet. Also two double bedrooms and one twin room. Cot, travel cot and highchair are also available on request. |

Outside Area: Nestled amongst the vineyards in a tiny hamlet the accommodation is perfect for those enjoying peace and quiet yet only 5 minutes from the market town of Doue la Fontaine and 15 minutes from historic Saumur and 35 minutes from Angers all of which are packed with restaurants and cafés. The friendly boulangerie is just a few minutes drive (or use a bike and keep fit!). Each property has its own garden or patio. |

Surrounding Area: The area is packed with historic interest from châteaux to churches, numerous museums which feature the famous ‘Tank Museum’ in Saumur to the ‘Apocalypse Tapestry’ at Angers. The world famous ‘Cadre Noir’ is just 15 minutes away where you can watch the thrills of the cavalry school. Winter temperatures are warmer than the UK and you can enjoy the wines for which this area is justifiably famous. Local markets are held weekly where you can buy produce from the region. There are numerous golf courses, riding schools and water sports close by. Bird watching, walking, cycling, wine tasting, château visits and much more. |
