The Property: The accommodation is furnished with a mixture of modern and country style renovated antique furniture.
There are 3 bedrooms, 2 double and 1 twin bedroom. In each room there is a small wardrobe, a mirror and a chair. They are comfortable and fresh with tiled floors. There is a cot on request. There is a bathroom with bath and shower and a separate toilet. The American kitchen is off the living room where there are comfortable chairs, a CD player, and a television. It is equipped with electric cooker, fridge and microwave. There is a separate private terrace with a barbecue set in the large wooded garden which gives onto woods and countryside.
The heating in winter is a closed wood burning stove backed up by electric heaters.

Outside Area: The garden, which is on a slope, is cultivated around the house but much of it has been left to trees and grass. It was once a vineyard. There are 2 terraces, one immediately outside the apartment and the other for the owners.

Surrounding Area: Les Charmes has the best of both worlds. It is on the edge of the Montagne Bourbonnaise which is a beautiful area of forests and farmland and, in places rises to well over 1200m. We are at about 400m. From the house we can see the château and the hills. There are wonderful views all the year round. We are within easy reach of shops. There is a general stores, a pharmacy and a maison de la presse in the village. Supermarket shopping is 5 minutes away at Champion in St Yorre. Vichy, a lovely spa town with a range of good shops and supermarkets and an excellent recently opened swimming pool complex, is only 15 minutes away. Vichy is also a lively cultural centre with a very beautiful opera house and médiathèque. We very seldom get snowed in. The road which passes the house connects Chateldon (500m. away) to a small town, (Puy Guillaume) where there is a market.

The area is good for walking, cycling, fishing and outdoor sports in general and has abundant wildlife to interest nature lovers.
