The property: On the ground floor are the eat-in kitchen, bathroom (separate bath and shower), toilet and living room. Off the kitchen is a large terrace for BBQs and outdoor meals. In the living room are two large couches, satellite television connection and DVD/VCR, and a large granite fireplace. The house is decorated with locally acquired antiques.

On the second level is the master bedroom. This is a very large room. There is a queen size bed, chest of drawers and a writing desk. There are also views over the distant hills to the South. On this level there is also a separate toilet and washbasin.

On the next floor is a very large room, which is a converted grenier (attic). It has four single beds. Attached to the grenier is the pigeonnier, which has been converted into a bedroom with a double bed. Linen such as bed sheets, pillow slips, towels, duvets etc are provided.

The kitchen includes a cook-top, oven, microwave, dishwasher and front loading washing machine. It comes complete with cooking equipment, cutlery and plates. There are also extras such as coffee maker, toaster etc

There is central, electric heating throughout the house. There is also a high speed, wireless Internet connection.

Outside Area: The farmhouse is situated on half a hectare of land.

Its construction is of the traditional method using fieldstone from the surrounding land. Its layout follows the typical U shape format. That is, a barn on one side, the stables on the other and the house in the middle. The house has been completely restored including new plumbing, kitchen, double glazing, electricals and roof. We also opened up extra windows to make the house more airy and brighter on the inside. However, we retained the original character while making it more practical for the 21st century.

The nearest neighbours are half a kilometre in each direction.

Surrounding Area: Located one kilometre from the village of Souge-le-Ganelon (supermarket, boulangerie, cafés, pharmacy, hairdresser, petrol, post), we have found it a slice of paradise in a world full of everyday stress. It is perfect for both a romantic get away or a fantastic family holiday. If you wish you can simply drop out and enjoy the local countryside and village life (Saturday market) or visit the many famous French sites that are available as day trips. These include the Châteaux of the Loire, Mont Saint Michel, Bayeux tapestry, D-Day beaches, Monet’s Garden and many more.

Two hours by car from Paris or 55 minutes by TGV to the town of Le Mans and then an easy 20 drive to the farmhouse.
