The property: 1 Rue des Marechaux. The house has four stories plus a stone vaulted wine cellar. Hall and shower room + utility on the ground floor; living room with woodburner and kitchen on first floor; master bedroom (four poster) and en suite bathroom on second floor; top floor is arranged as a twin bedroom + bathroom. This is a typical village house with steep and uneven stairs - challenging for the elderly and very young! Furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary, some French plus interesting pictures - the floors are tiled and all have rugs. |

Outside Area: Our roof terrace leads off the twin bedroom, is not overlooked and offers complete privacy. It seats four comfortably and has the requisite seating, tables + an awning. Magnificent southerly views towards the hills above St Tropez. Outside the front door is a charming little 'placette' with a never failing fountain - perfect place to read ..... |

Surrounding Area: Cotignac itself has a fabulous Tuesday market and is a ' buzzy' village all the year round with four restaurants, bars and shops to provide every need for the population of 2000. Other villages within easy reach are Aups, Villecroze, Tour Tour, Entrecasteaux, Lorgues and Salernes. Aix-en-Provence is a 60 minute drive. Lac de Ste Croix - the largest of the Verdon lakes - is a 40 minute drive, the Pre History Museum at Quinson is easily accessible as are the Cistercian and Benedictine abbies of Thoronet and La Celle. This is a great area for walkers and nature lovers. Skiing can be found at Greolieres (near Grasse) and nearby golf courses are Barbaroux and St Endreol. Cotignac is about an hour's drive to the coast. |
