The property: La Ferme is a single storey, converted stone built gîte with character (exposed wooden beams, stone walls etc). It is part of a small gîte complex (originally a 17th century farm) and the owners, who live onsite, are happy to help with any questions that occur during your stay. La Ferme has a private courtyard and patio (BBQ included) with access to the 5 acre site with gardens, fields, swimming pool and small fishing lake. The view over the pool and down to the ancient river valley is stunning. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a utility room with washing machine and a large lounge/dining area. The bathroom has a bath with over shower, bidet and basin and there is a separate toilet. Attached to La Ferme is La Petite Maison which can be rented with La Ferme or separately. It has a corner kitchen, lounge/diner, double bedroom and separate bathroom. Both La Ferme and La Petite Maison can be used by people in wheel chairs (door width 27”) as they are both on the ground floor. |

Outside Area: La Ferme is great for outdoor living. There is a private courtyard with BBQ and patio furniture. The main garden (1/2 acre) has a large flat lawn with a boules pitch and swimming pool. Outside games include badminton, table tennis and giant chess. There is also a further 4 acres of fields and a small fishing lake (perch up to 2lb). Private off road parking is available on site. |

Surrounding Area: La Ferme is situated on the edge of a quite village which is only a 3 min drive to a boulangerie (bakers), épicerie (corner shop) and bar. Free range eggs are available locally! The local town is the medieval bastide town of Eymet which was built in the 13th century. It has a weekly morning market with night markets in the summer. There is a market within approximately 25 mins drive away every day of the week including Sundays! Eymet (5 mins drive) has doctors (English spoken), dentists (English spoken), supermarket, restaurants, bars and schools. Bergerac, situated on the Dordogne River, is only a 20 minutes drive and has a beautiful old town and two market days. Bergerac’s airport has low cost flights to Bristol, Southampton, Birmingham, Stansted and Liverpool. For those who want to shop in a city, Bordeaux is less than 90 mins away with both city centre and out of town shopping areas. Bergerac is the centre of a major wine area, with famous wine like Monbazillac, Rosette and Perchamont grown locally. There are many sporting activities available including horse riding, canoeing, tennis and golf. There are two par 72 courses within 30 mins drive and a number of 9 hole courses. |
