The property: Our two gîtes have been created from the complete renovation of the barns and wine/cognac storage areas of the mill house. They have been decorated and furnished to a high standard in a modern farmhouse style, with extensive woodwork and exposed stone walls. ‘Matisse’ has one family bedroom downstairs making it suitable for couples or those with small children, and two bedrooms on a mezzanine floor. The family room comprises of a double bed and a single bed with a pullout bed (with full sized single mattresses). Ample storage with a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Upstairs one bedroom has twin beds, walk in wardrobe and dressing table. A Velux window gives plenty of natural light. The other bedroom is the same but with a double bed. The lounge area of ‘Matisse’ is double height giving a very light and airy feel. ‘Monet’ is on two floors with the three bedrooms upstairs. The bedrooms have some exposed stone walls and beams. The family room has a double bed and a single bed with a pullout bed (with full sized single mattresses). Ample storage with a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The twin room is smaller with some storage. The double bedroom comprises of double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Both the twin and double rooms have beautiful views of the lake, gardens and surroundings. Each gîte has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area fully equipped and furnished, with satellite television, DVD player, CD/radio, seating and dining room for up to 10 people. The kitchens are fully equipped, including a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, gas cooker and oven. Very importantly too both have large fridge and freezer (60/40 fridge to freezer ratio) so that you shouldn’t need to shop too often. Each gîte has extensive views over the grounds and lake and have covered dining areas and verandahs. The owner’s live on site to ensure a warm welcome, advise and guidance if house hunting (if required). |

Outside Area: Le Moulin de Malineau is surrounded by 4 acres of tranquil landscaped gardens including a small carp lake. The lake is fully stocked with Carp, some of the elusive larger fish are around 10lb, so whilst not huge still enjoyable for both experienced and less experienced fishermen. There is no charge for guests that wish to fish. Each gîte has a range of outdoor furniture and BBQs. There is also a 10m x 5m fenced pool. The barn at the rear of the property serves as a games room with table tennis and darts. We also have a 9 hole putting course. |

Surrounding Area: We are located in a rural area surrounded by vineyards, sunflowers and arable land. There is extensive wild life including hen harriers, owls, kingfishers and deer. There are plenty of country lanes for walking and cycling. Horse riding can be arranged locally, and there are tennis courts nearby. We are approximately 10 minutes from Montendre and 15 minutes from Jonzac. Both towns offer extensive shopping and markets. We are also within easy reach of Bordeaux, Angouleme, Cognac, St Emilion, Royan, La Rochelle and all the major attractions of the Charente-Maritime. |
