The property: The Olive Garden. The house is spacious, light and airy, stylishly furnished and well equipped. Throughout the ground floor there are beautiful natural limestone floors and large French doors and windows. These have all been designed to bring the garden and light into the house. They lead directly to the pool area and outside terraces where pergolas are strewn with roses to provide shade. There is a traditional fireplace in the lounge and two separate dining areas, one leading into the open style kitchen, the other out to the garden. The furnishings are simple off-white, antique in style, attractive, comfortable and welcoming. The upstairs bedrooms benefit from terraces on to the garden and views of Mount Ventoux. There are two downstairs bedrooms, (one double, one twin) and 2 shower rooms. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms (two doubles, one twin) and one large bathroom. |

Walking and mountain biking are virtually on the doorstep & it is possible to find a new trail every day. It is a wonderful area for walking and cycling, with the Tour de France final stage often at nearby Mount Ventoux, when the race actually passes through Caromb. There are tennis courts in the village, horse riding & many rivers with canoeing, & two lakes close by, one with fishing. For lovers of good wines, Chateauneuf du pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise, and of course Caromb Caves are all nearby. Both Avignon and Carpentras have long summer festivals with music, dance and theatre, with Avignon's cultural activities continuing thoughout the year. The local villages have fetes during the long, hot summer months. Avignon and Carpentras are also a shoppers delight, as are all the daily local markets and brocantes. |
