Surrounding Area: Le Croisic - a fishing port and popular marina. An attractive small town which is also the terminus for the high speed train (TGV) from Paris, and from Lille Europe. Guérande - beautiful medieval walled city, a few miles inland. Intra muros has been carefully preserved and markets are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Le Pouliguen - a fishing and pleasure port at the mouth of the river which separates it from La Baule. La Baule - miles of very beautiful beach (which stretches to Pornichet). Expensive shops, casino, discos and a lively cultural life all the year round. La Turballe - one of France’s most important sardine ports. Parc de la Brière - a freshwater marshland of hundreds of acres; perfect for bird-watching and cycling. Nantes is only an hour’s drive and is a thriving city abounding in concert halls, museums, cathedrals and shops. |
