The property: La Grange is a beautifully restored barn dating from about 1820 with its original beams and stone walls. In the quiet village of St Valerien. The large ground floor is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, with all the necessary crockery, glasses, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine etc that you would expect to make it home from home. The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and is equipped with, DVD, sky TV (free view channels), HiFi, books and games for all ages, telephone & broad band connection is available if required. The dining area has a large wooden table and chairs. There is also a downstairs shower room with toilet. French doors lead on to the side walled terrace and the rear walled terrace. The first floor has three spacious bedrooms, all with wonderful comfy beds, the main bedroom having a king size bed & an en suite bath room, another having twin beds and the other changeable between a king size bed or two singles – please let us know your preference. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with matching wardrobes, chest of drawers, side tables and bed side lamps. There is also a large family bathroom with bath over head shower, sink and toilet. The property is has double glazing throughout and as it has been recently renovated is of course well insulated. |

Outside Area: There are two terraces or patios to the property ideal for catching the sun, garden furniture is supplied along with BBQ. There is also a large garden and outside washing line. There is limited storage space available in a barn but more could be arranged please contact us for further details. Lots of wonderful country walks just a minute’s walk from the property and star gazing is a must with the beautiful clear night skies. |

Surrounding Area: The village has its own tabac and shop that has vegetables and bread delivered daily. The nearest small supermarket is a 5 min drive away with the Renaissance town of Fontenay le Comte being 15 mins away having several supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, swimming pools, cinemas and a weekly Saturday market. Lucon with its magnificent cathedral has a market twice a week. The smaller town of Saint Hermine has a weekly market. The nearest post office is 5 minutes. The famous coastal town of La Rochelle (and airport) and the sandy beaches are about a 50 minutes drive. Nearer are the forest of Mervent, ideal for walking and cycling and the Venise Vert. Puy de Fou (1hrs drive) and Futuroscope (1.5 hrs drive). |
