Outside Area: Parking is adjacent on the tree-lined square to the side of the property. This is free at all times. The narrow cobbled streets lead up to the elegant shopping mall, and numerous restaurants and bars, the daily covered market full of local interest, the public gardens, museums, library, etc. In the opposite direction more cobbled alleyways lead down to the wide River Charente, with the old port area, the Hennessy buildings, and the bridge leading into the Cognac St Jacques area. At the top of the pedestrian mall you will find the main area with its statue of Francois Premier and plenty of choice to sit and watch the world go by.

Surrounding Area: Cognac, with its on-going attachment to the wonderful liquor production, to which it gave its name, is an excellent centre to explore the rest of the Charente and Charente-Maritime areas, as well as being handy for the St Emillion, Bordeaux and Medoc wine producing areas. You can reach the coast within an hour, and from the Gironde estuary up to the old port of La Rochelle, you will find plenty of diversity. You will marvel at the endless fields of sunflowers in the summer, and even more endless vineyards stretching across the landscape.
You will be able to wander through timeless villages and hamlets, or take trips up and down the rivers. Evenings in Cognac need never be dull. There are various festivals throughout the year. Three airports within 90 minutes, and TGV links from Cognac throughout the area, and to Paris.
