The property: Although the property is 250 years old, it has been fully renovated with a modern heating system and ample radiators as well as a wood burning stove in the dining room and wonderful open fire place in the living room. The kitchen area and utility room are fully equipped with washing machine, dish washer, microwave hob/oven and two sinks. There is a shower room/toilet on the ground floor and a toilet/bathroom upstairs. The three bedrooms are all upstairs - all with exposed beams - two with antique French double beds and the third with bunk beds. The floors downstairs have terracotta tiling and rugs whilst upstairs has exposed walnut floors. The house has been furnished to a high standard with comfy chairs and beds.

Outside Area: There is a driveway with ample parking for 4-5 vehicles and almost an acre of garden with mature trees and hedging and views across the countryside. There is also a private courtyard area and covered terrace both with outside tables and chairs. In front of the terrace there is a swimming pool (closed Nov. to April). There is a gardener who maintains the pool and garden throughout the year.

Fireside

Surrounding Area: The house is in a fantastic location within striking distance of the sights of the Dorgogne such as Brantome, Little Venice of Perigord Vert (20 minutes) and in the other direction Cognac and the coast. Just 2 miles from the house is the picturesque town of Villebois Lavelette with its fairytale chateau and covered market place. Here you will find shops, bars and a supermarket just on the outskirts. The nearest city is Angouleme where the old town has a number of interesting churches and museums. Bordeaux is just 45 minutes away.
