The property: The gîte has 3 bedrooms - two bedrooms have double beds and one bedroom has 2 single beds. The master bedroom is en-suite (toilet, basin, shower) and there is another separate bathroom with toilet, basin & shower. The fully fitted kitchen overlooks the open-plan dining/sitting room which has beautiful views down the field to the lake. The gîte has plenty of books and satellite TV.

The gîte is fitted with electric radiators in all the bedrooms and bathrooms for cooler periods of the year, and there is a log burner in the sitting/dining room area.

Outside Area: There are French doors from the sitting area to the terrace which has a covered area to provide shade over the table & chairs. There are also sun-loungers (with cushions), a barbeque and a 3.6m hexagonal plunge-pool.

Covered parking is provided, as well as a table tennis table with bats and balls.

Surrounding Area: The village of St Barthelemy de Bellegarde is ideally situated for easy access to Bergerac, Perigueux, Bordeaux, St Emilion etc. Also within easy reach are Sarlat and the caves of Les Eyzies and Lascaux II with the famous prehistoric rock paintings.

The village itself is 2km from the gîte and has a small shop for freshly baked croissants, patisseries and baguettes, as well as other basic food items. There is also a bar and fabulous restaurant and a local butcher.

It takes about 10 minutes to drive to the larger town of Montpon which has a good range of traditional French shops, two supermarkets, bars, banks, as well as a bait & tackle shop, tourist office etc.

Other activities close by include horse riding, canoeing, mountain biking etc. There are boat trips nearby on the river L’Isle and on the river Dordogne at Bergerac. There are plenty of local markets and restaurants to visit, including a great night market at Le Pizou which is about 10 minutes away.

Pricing Info: £500 per month for winter lets, October to April. Please contact the owner to confirm prices for other months of the year. Utilities are extra. The deposit is 1 month’s rent in advance. The payment should include a separate cheque for £250 as a security/damage deposit which will be returned to you after your holiday. Any damages incurred will be taken from this amount and the balance returned to you by cheque direct to your home address. Linen and towels can also be provided.
