COULONGES-SUR-L’AUTIZE has a market every Tues & Sat am, restaurants, bars, various shops, banks & super market. As well as a tennis court, heated swimming pool & a Night Club.

MERVENT this area is famous for it's wonderful lakes & forests. A great day out can be had at the fun park “Pierre Brune”. Plus the nearby Zoo. VOUVANT closeby to Mervant is a beautiful historic town with a super Creperie “Le Pic Vert” & boat hire. Well recommended!

FAYMOREAU has a recommended restaurant at the Hotel de Mines & a peaceful fishing lake, daily permits about £6.00 can be purchased at the Hotel de Mines..

CHASSENON LE BOURG also has a wonderful lake, a sandy beach, shady picnic area, water slide, bar & boat hire. A great alternative to driving to the coast.

MARAIS POTEVIN better known as  VERISE VERTE, known for it’s numerous riverside villages with various restaurants, bars, boat & bike hire. The area is renowned for it’s abundance of wildlife & wonderful scenery. COULON is well recommended.

FONTENAY LE COMTE is a great town with a market on Saturday & much to see & do.

NIORT also has a hoast of shops, cinema, restaurants & historic buildings to visit.

LA ROCHELLE about 1/2 hrs drive is an interesting town,  from here you can view the famous FORT BOYARD & take a boat to the unique island of ILE DE RE.

PUY DE FOU to the north is well worth a day out to enjoy the “Grand Parc” spread over 40 hectares - quoted as being “a sensation sure to thrill”!

POITIERS & THE FAMOUS FUTUROSCOPE about 60 mls is certainly worth the drive.

Delivery of oil (for the central heating) will be paid by the tenant on the day of delivery. The current owner will gladly arrange delivery. Rent will be paid in advance, along with a deposit of one month (this will be returned to the tenant when they depart, pending all bills & rent are up to date & no damage caused to the property, furnishing etc.)
