The property: Caton barn is a wonderful 19th century barn, with fabulous view of the Pyrénées mountains. The property has been tastefully renovated, keeping original features, such as beamed ceilings. THE GROUND FLOOR: Is a very large open plan space, having a kitchen/lounge/dining. The kitchen is well equipped, with all things necessary for modern living. The dining area seats 4 and overlooks the patio and garden. The lounge has a huge opening to the front of the property giving lots of light to the space, it also contains a log burning stove which gives a lovely cosy feeling to the room during those cooler winter months. There is a 3 piece suite, tv, (some uk channels) and dvd player. FIRST FLOOR: There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with single beds and one with a double bed. Outside Area: The property is surrounded by 2 acres of land, mostly laid to lawn with several trees. There are fruit trees and some grape vines. There are outside dining tables, sun loungers, a bbq and pool. The property also has its own covered terrasse. To the south are views of the Pyrénées and to the north tree covered hills. |

Surrounding Area: The Midi-Pyrenees is abundant with things to see and do. The house is situated amongst the vineyards of St. Mont so obviously tasting the local produce is a must. Armagnac a brandy type drink is also produced in the area, as is Fois Gras. The musketeer D'Artagnan was said to live in the area and there is a museum to celebrate the fact in Lupiac. The close proximity to Spain brings us bull rings in almost every town, with fetes to go with them. There are numerous opportunities for fishing and permits can be bought locally. There are 2 golf courses, one at Eauze and one at Pallane, having putting greens, practice drives, pools and restaurants. A great day out for the kids is Parc Walibi. The mountains offer rambling, climbing caving, canoeing and of course skiing in the winter. Lourdes is definitely worth a visit. The Atlantic coast is only an hour away and is great for surfing. In the surrounding villages it is possible to canoe, ride, carte, cycle, swim and many more things. There are regular local markets, supermarkets and wine tasting. Bars and restaurants are many as are the lakes with sandy beaches with swimming facilities. There are numerous festivals including Jazz at Marciac and latino at Vic Fezenzac. Nogaro boasts its own race track and has many bike, car and lorry shows throughout the year. Nearby Termes D'Armagnac has a castle and offers medieval shows and banquets. |
