The region is rich in history, culture, archaeological sites and year round markets and festivals. And, of course, it’s a major centre for grapes and lavender - wineries and lavender farms abound. It is also a centre for walking known as the Grande Randonnée. Clearly marked, these walking tracks make up part of the famous Pilgrims route that still takes walkers from the top of France down through the massive central, over the Pyrénées and into Spain to finish at Santiago de Compostela. Horse and bike riding are also very popular.
Most of Provence’s major sites and attractions, including Gordes, Senanque, Roussillon, Fontain de Vaucluse, L'lsle sur la Sorgue and Les Baux de Provence, are within easy reach as is the Mediterranean and Cote d’Azur.
