Confolens is the nearest large town through which the river Vienne flows. It boasts several bars restaurants and the Velo Rail. It is an attractive old medieval town.
The busy market town of Ruffec is a 25 minute drive passing on route the delightful villages of Nanteuill sur Vallee and Condac. Both of these villages are home to some excellent restaurants. A river flows though Condac where canoeing and swimming are very popular, the picnic and barbecue facilities, playarea as well as café make it a perfect destination for relaxing afternoons.
The lovely lakes of the Charente ( Lacs de Haute Charente ) are well accessed from this property as are the airports of Limoges and Poitiers.
There are several interesting attractions nearby including Vallée des Singes, Futuroscope Poitiers, Le Vieux Cormenier (French Village ca 1900), Oradour sur Glane as well as popular cycle routes, velo rail and horseriding.
Paris and other destinations are easily reached from here via TGV from the station in Poitiers.
