Our 2 bedroom gite is an ideal base for exploring western France. Set in a peaceful hamlet, ideal for walking and cycling yet only 5 km from Chef Boutonne (Petite Cité de Charactére) with it’s small chateau and lake, supermarkets, boulangeries, bars and restaurants. Ideal for house hunting, writing a book or trying the French life for a few months. Niort, Poitiers, Cognac and Angouleme within an hour; La Rochelle is just under 90 minutes.

The original property was a barn built of local stone and it is, we guess, about 200-300 years-old.
We have a 3* rating provided by the local Préfecture.
Downstairs there is a sitting/dining room with a kitchen area to one side. Through this room you have access to a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath, separate shower, toilet, washbasin, bidet). Upstairs there are two smaller bedrooms with three single beds in total, and a shower room/toilet. Access to the single bedroom is through the twin bedroom and the shower room. Outside there is a south-facing patio shaded by a plum tree with parking right beside the house. We are in a tranquil setting surrounded by fields, vineyards and our horsey farm, yet in easy reach of Bergerac for shops, airport, station and many restaurants.
