Description of Property:   This house has its roots in the birth of Monpazier being part of the original presbyterre (rumour has it that there used to be a tunnel from the cellar to the convent 100 metres away!) and therefore one of the earliest houses in the village. On the ground floor are three bedrooms (one of which is not in use during lets), all with wall to wall carpeting: 1 - twin with en-suite (w.c., bath, basin); 1 - with king size bed and en-suite (as bed 1). The bathrooms have stone tiled floors. A custom made bi-furcated oak staircase leads to both the living room, which has a huge south facing renaissance window, and the kitchen, with light well and breakfast corner, on the first floor. A second bespoke staircase leads to the mezzanine, which has a small cloakroom, and a door to the roof terrace with its wonderful views.

Outside Amenities:  The terrace is ideal for eating al fresco, drinking a glass or three of wine or just chilling with friends.
Free parking is on the street outside the house and in the surrounding streets.

Surrounding Area:  Monpazier is an historic monument in its own right being one of the best preserved bastide towns in France. Its medieval arcades and covered halle are original and many of the buildings around the square date from the medieval period with a few additions from the renaissance period and 18th/19th centuries. The village has a plethora of shops and restaurants, a medical practice and a nurses station. In the summer there are markets, fetes, street theatres, historical re-enactments, etc. in the towns and villages around and about. There are many fascinating historical sites in the area, from troglodyte dwellings to 18th century chateaux and cave paintings; boat trips and canoeing along the mighty Dordogne river are also not far away. Bergerac airport - with flights to the UK/Holland/North Africa - is 40 minutes away. Bordeaux and Toulouse - 2 hours by car.
