Description of Property:
This property will be for our renters 'home from home'. Laid out over two floors, the ground floor has a large open-plan lounge/dining room/ kitchen - light and airy with three sets of French windows, one to the front and two to the walled courtyard. There is a very comfortable three-piece suite and a dining table and chairs for up to 8 persons. This room has a large television and free-to-view receiver, docking station for an iPod, a DVD player, and a CD player. The kitchen is equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need and cooking is on a five-gas-burner and electric oven stove. On the ground floor there is a twin-bedded room with en-suite shower room, toilet and wash-hand basin - there are grab handles in the shower and by the toilet for the less abled person.
Upstairs there are two further bedrooms - one with a king-size bed, the other with a double and a single. Both rooms have en-suite facilities.
Outside Amenities: The lounge and kitchen have doors which lead on to the walled courtyard - a private and sheltered area where there are tables and chairs for al fresco dining. Steps lead up from this area to the swimming pool and patio but the pool is not available during the winter months. A winter cover is put on which makes it secure. Beyond the pool area is a large, grassed, garden. In front of the barn is a large parking area.
Surrounding Area: Le Grand Bost is just outside the village of Montazeau which has a very good restaurant and a 'vente directe' chateau. There are dozens of 'vente directe' wine producers in the region and wine tastings can be arranged. The nearest village for bread and emergency supplies is five minutes by car, and has several shops including a general stores, a pharmacy, a restaurants and a doctor's surgery. Supermarket shopping is 15 minutes away. The area is well served by restaurants and cafe/bars.
The Dordogne is a beautiful part of southwest France with a very good climate. Within short drives there is the city of Bordeaux, the beautiful and historic town of St Emilion, the very picturesque town of Brantome, Duras with its castle, Bergerac with its quaint old town and many more wonderful places to visit. If, like us, you enjoy food and wine you will be in heaven. For the more energetic there are countryside walks, cycling (we can arrange cycle hire), canoeing on the river, golf close by, horseriding, and caves at Sarlat. Montazeau has a tennis court for hire. Nearby Lac de Gurson has proved popular with families and offers lake swimming, pedallos, sandy beaches and 3 bar/restaurants. If you are prepared to take a longer journey you can visit Cognac, Angouleme or Limoges - or head further south to the Spanish border - have a day out and lunch in Biarritz

Pricing Info: The rental for the property including all utilities is £650 per month for 2 people, or £750 per month for 4 people. Rent is required monthly in advance.
