Description of Property:
Our home is open plan downstairs with a modern kitchen, utility room and downstairs bathroom. The hallways is spacious and houses a piano. The lounge/diner is very large and double aspect with a wood-burning stove, sofas and coffee table, TV, dining table and chairs, desk.
On the first floor there is a stunning double aspect master suite with super kingsize bed, private balcony, sofa bed, en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. A further two double bedrooms and two bathrooms can be found on this floor.
On the top floor we have two large family rooms, each with 4 single beds each. There are toys and games on this floor and a TV, DVD and Wii. There is limited head room at the edges of these two top floor rooms. There is a WC and sink on the top floor.
All furniture is either new or vintage. All mattresses are new. Our decor has been described by guests as "tasteful and simple".
The house would be suitable for a couple or family and there is a primary school in Fanjeaux. We don't mind well-behaved pets who stay downstairs and off the sofas!
If you don't require five bedrooms, we can shut off the top floor, and make three bedrooms available at the lower monthly rental of EUR1100.

Outside Amenities: There is a large garden which is fairly low maintenance. We would ask that our tenants mow the lawn when necessary. There is a storage barn and a games barn with a swing, tables tennis table and other outdoor toys.
Surrounding Area: The Aude region of Languedoc-Roussillon is stunning, with rolling hills and farmland all around. We are close to the Pyrenees and they can often be seen in the distance. Our village of Fanjeaux has a tabac, butchers, grocers and boulangerie. There is a school in the village, tennis courts to rent, a Mairie and Post Office.
Nearby Mirepoix has a wonderful fresh market on Mondays and is a very pleasant place to take a coffee in the medieval square. There are lots of cultural activities going on in Mirepoix, many aimed at ex-pats. Carcassonne is a 30 minute drive away and has shopping amenities plus the old city.
The Mediterranean sea is one hour away.
