Description of Property: The building dates back to 1800 and was completely renovated to a very high standard in 2014. It is just outside Grasse, the centre of the world's perfume industry and where Chanel still exclusively grow all their white roses. The house is three stories at its highest point, with high ceilings and windows and spacious, light-filled rooms, elegantly furnished. The ground floor of the property is open-plan style, with two double bedroom suites on both the second and third floors. There are wonderful unobstructed views of the hills from every room. The property is not isolated being close to the centre of Grasse, but it feels very private and 'countryfied' and is not overlooked.
Outside Amenities: There are magnificent hill views from the large 5000 sq metre terraced garden filled with fruit trees. We even produce our own olive oil. We have a 11 x 4 m pool with loungers and parasols. A table tennis table is set up on one of the terraces. There is a kitchen lawned garden filled with lavender and an old olive tree and a terrace perfect for breakfast. There is also a main terrace with small fountain, leading off the living room, and a roof terrace off the main bedroom. There are high quality tables, chairs and loungers.
Surrounding Area: Grasse is only a km or so from the house. It is a beautiful old town, with a charming historic centre, and wonderful perfume museum. There is a rail station in Grasse with trains going to Cannes, Nice and then on to Monaco and Italy. Skiing is about 50 minutes away in Gréolières. The beautiful Saint Cassien lake is 18 km away. Cannes is under half an hour with its glamorous beaches, shopping and wide range of restaurants and bars. Jacques Chibois, the famous French chef lives on our road and his fabulous restaurant Bastide Sainte Antoine is about 5 minutes from the house and should not be missed! Our road is also famous for having been one of the locations for Hitchcock's movie, 'To Catch A Thief'.
