This light, spacious,property has been renovated by local artisans.
This house offers the perfect blend of style, comfort and tranquility. . Access to the house is via stone stairs leading from a private parking space, The stairs lead to the large terrace, lansdscaped and built with integrated seating. A pathway leads to an additional terrace. The terrace and gardens are completely private, surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Gorges du Congoust.
It is set back from a quiet road it's extremely peaceful. The air is rich with the scent of thyme and lavender and rosemary which grows wild on the mountainside
The house is fully equipped with a large kitchen, diner, lounge area With a wood burner. This living space is set directly off the terrace. There are 3 large bedrooms, 2 double and one with twin beds which can fit together to make a kingsize. Lounge /office room has an additional mezzanine with a double bed for any extra visitors. There are two bathrooms both with toilets,wash basins and showers.
We have reversible Airconditioning to keep cool in the summer and give economical heating in the winter. In addition there are electric radiators and a woodburning stove. These combine with excellent insulation to create a warm, cosy home over the cooler winter months. All the water is pure u/v treated fresh spring water. There is wifi throughout the house, good mobile phone reception and smart TV available.
For the summer months there is access to a shared 15m² pool.
The owners Maddy and Chris live in the hamlet and are on hand to help with any additional needs. We have lots of local knowledge and are happy to advise on all the best things to do and places to visit.
Outside Amenities: The large terrace has an integrated seating area. There is also a large outside dining table, plancha gas barbecue, plus additional sunset/ morning coffee terrace with a table and chairs. The landscaped gardens are surrounded by nature and beautiful walks. There is private parking and a shared pool which is very rarely used by anyone else.
Surrounding Area: The house is situated in a small hamlet of 5 houses, nestled at the edge of the stunning Gorges du Congoust. Languedoc Roussillon has been voted by Lonely planet as the 5th most recommended place on earth to visit.
The area is steeped in history and heritage and we will be happy to advise you on how to make the most of your stay. It's just 5 minutes drive to the local village of Montlaur where you can find a convenience store for your morning baguette and croissants, a pharmacy, butcher, and several wine caves. On Tuesdays there's a market with local produce. In the summer there are lots of concerts and fetes in all the surrounding villages.
It's just a 7 minute drive through the impressive Gorges to the ancient village of Ribaute where you can wild swim in the beautiful river and enjoy the cascades.
Lagrasse, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France is only a 15 minute drive and there you can find the historic Abbey, restaurants, cafes and yet more river swimming.
20 minutes drive takes you to either Carcassonne or Lezignan where you can find local markets, supermarkets etc.
The Mediterranean sea is just a 45 minute drive a with a choice of pristine white sandy Beaches.
Carcassonne airport is just 30 minutes drive with daily flights to European countries. Toulouse international airport is 1.30 minutes away. Montpellier and Bezier airports are a similar distance.

Pricing Info: Price based on two people start at 900€ a month from November till the end of March., April,May, June, September, October 1100€ Per month. July, August 2000€ if these two months are incorporated into a longer stay. Deposit €900 Euros deposit required.
Price includes water, clean linen and towels including beach towels. Price does not include electricity which will be charged at local rate according to use, firewood provided at additional cost. Local vacation tax not included.
Availability: This property is available year round for longer lets.
Long term lets are available only to people who have a principal residence elsewhere.
