Description of Property: Completely renovated in 2016/17 this old terrace house has kept all it's original charm but combines with modern day facilities. It is situated in the historic town of Sommieres with the Vidourle River running through the heart of it. Cafes and restaurants line both sides of the river, bull runs and Camargue horse runs still take place along the cobbled streets and through the river periodically throughout the year. From the market square one of the cobbled streets takes you up to the front of house. The lounge can comfortably seat up to 8 people, has a writing bureau, tv,internet and phone and a sofa bed, (this room can be completely closed for privacy). Twisting wooden stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor. Here there is the family bathroom with a bath, shower, sink and toilet. The ceiling is double height and has a brass chandelier hanging low. The back bedroom is large with original floor tiling, an ideal room for a couple plus it has a single bed in addition to the double. The front bedroom is even larger and has one set of bunk beds plus two singles. Up another flight of winding stairs takes you past another toilet and into a light and airy kitchen with all modern conveniences; washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, large extendable table and plenty of storage. Stairs lead up to a small mezzanine level which has a double futon or can be used for children to play. Three tiled steps lead through double door space to the large sun room. A double sofa bed, armchair, plenty of books and games are kept here. Outside is another smallish balcony with a spiral staircase up to the large roof terrace with stunning views of Sommieres and the Cevenne.

Surrounding Area: Sommieres is a lively, bustling place with a food market and brocante on Saturdays and twice weekly in the holiday seasons. It has many cafes, restaurants, shops and bars all within walking distance. The Laurence Durrell Cultural centre is across the cobbled road and behind it lies the old castle. Only half an hour from Montpellier, Nimes (both with airports), the mediterranean beaches and two hours from the snow.
The house lies in one of the three pedestrian cobbled roads that lead to the centre of the town, just a few minutes walk away.
