Description of Property:   The gite is only 1.5 kms from the medieval bastide Mirepoix.

The ground floor is open plan living space with kitchen at one end. The French doors from the sitting area open out directly on to the exterior.

The heating in winter is mainly by wood stove with electric heating.

Outside Amenities:  In front of the gite is a small car park and bbq area. The views are of 1 hectare of well kept garden and terrain, mature trees and plants. A small bridge leads across a stream to the outdoor swimming pool with large patio surround and seating area. Thereafter there is an uninterruped view of agricultural fields and distant hills.

Surrounding Area:  The gite is 45 minutes from Carcassonne airport, 1hr.15 minutes from Blagnqc Toulouse airport and 50 minutes from Pyrenees skiing. The centre of Mirepoix is of noted historical importance. It is one of the best preserved small citadels in France, dating from the 13th century with a colonnaded square and still visible carved sculptures. The large Monday Market attracts local inhabitants and visitors from some distance and is a delight to visit. On the edge of the town are two supermarkets, petrol pumps, garages, secondhand depot selling old French furniture and household items. The centre provides a range of restaurants, cafes, bars as well as bakers, butchers, tabacs, health food shop and a number of fascintating craft boutiques. There are tennis courts, a cinema, and also an indoor municipal swimming pool. Larger towns of Pamiers, Lavalent, Limoux, Castelnaudary and Carcassonne are not far away.
