Description of Property:
The large kitchen has lots of character with the original ancient bread oven and oak Welsh dresser. There are oak kitchen units, a cream dual fuel Range Master stove, Bosch fridge freezer, integrated washing machine and dishwasher.
An Italian glass table and 4 chairs are located here for informal meals.
Extensive equipment is provided including cafetieres, sharp knives, lots of cutlery and crockery, coffee-machine, plastic crockery and glasses for the pool area, tupperware, table mats, large casserole dishes, microwave. The kitchen window overlooks the pool area and the double kitchen doors lead to the enclosed drive area.
The dining room leads from the kitchen via two steps. The dining room has a large table which seats 10. The dining room has two wicker storage chests with infant equipment and toys. There are also picnic rucksacks and blankets stored here. There are two oak wide steps that lead to the Sitting Room.
The sitting room has a fantastic character cherry ceiling and ancient oak beams and is open plan with the dining area.
The sitting room has wonderful views through the French doors onto a large balcony with table and chairs, and also with glass balastrade to make the most of uninterrupted lovely views over the plum orchards, across the beautiful valley and Vigiers Valley golf course.
There is a very comfortable large sofa which seats six with two of the sofa seats being reclining chairs. There are also 2 leather chairs and a large oak and glass central table and side lights.
Guests can enjoy a 42in Smart TV, hundreds of DVDs and Hamleys boards games.
An oak staircase leads from this room to the first floor. The sitting room has an electric wood burner.
All four bedrooms have heating and all are en suite. All have hairdryers, luxury Bedeck bedding and towels.
There are two ground floor bedrooms;
The Lavender Suite - this leads from the sitting room and has beautiful views across the valley and over the golf course. This suite also has direct access to the large balcony that has a glass balustrade to make the most of the views. It has an en suite shower room, a super-king bed with memory foam mattress and a relaxing sofa which can convert to a single bed. It also has views over the pool area.
The Yellow Suite - this bedroom leads from the dining room and is the only of the four bedrooms that does not have views over the valley at the front of the house. This room has double doors and faces the entrance driveway. It has the benefit of having a large en suite bathroom with a traditional cast iron bath as well as a walk in shower. It has a super-king bed which can convert to twin beds if preferred with room for a cot.
There are two first floor bedrooms, both with views over the countryside;
The Rose Suite - with an en suite shower room, a super-king bed and a relaxing sofa which can convert to a single bed. Views over the valley and golf course.
The Green Suite - with an en suite shower room, and a choice of a super-king bed or twin beds. Views over the golf course and across the valley.
En Suite Showers and Bathrooms
The four en suites have oak fittings, large walk in showers, Grohe appliances, shaver mirrors and sockets, heated towel radiators.
Outside Amenities: The Farmhouse has extensive grounds to enjoy with lots of space for everyone. Much thought has gone into providing a choice of areas for guests to sit in and relax.
The Upper Garden is a one acre lovely space extending from the pool area and the circular driveway. The super size trampoline and bike shed are located here.
There are steps to the large Lower Garden and this garden has stunning views along the valley and the golf course. This is a very beautiful area with a seating area around a covered well as well as swinging hammocks. Enjoy a game of table tennis here too!
You can also reach the Lower Garden with a stroll down the little lane and then following a grassy path from here.
Off road, large circular driveway with parking for 6 cars.
Surrounding Area: The Farmhouse is in a beautiful area of vineyards and farms. It lies adjacent to Chateau Vigiers, one of the best golf resorts in South West France. No handicap certificate is required and our guests enjoy a 25% reduction on green fees as well as treats at the Spa and restaurant. Vigiers has a cosy brasserie as well as a 1* Michelin restaurant and welcomes guests.
The closest town is Saint Foy la Grande which has a famous Saturday market and is only a 10 min drive. There is also a large Le Clerc just a 10 min drive away. There is a choice of local village restaurants which are excellent.
Bergerac is only a 20 minute drive with an airport and Medieval historic centre as well as extensive shopping facilities.
Cycling and Walking
The villa is surrounded by a network of single-track lanes without hedges which are perfect for cycling and walking. One of the great joys in rural France is to enjoy a walk or cycle to a local restaurant. The villa has an extensive selection of bikes and helmets for all ages as well as a toddler pull along carriage and infant seats.
We have strong links with a range of local family and dog friendly vineyards for our guests to enjoy.
We also have links further afield in St Emilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a 40 min drive.
One of our caretakers is a registered wine guide and offers local bespoke tours to both vineyards and local farms to discover the famous gastronomic delights.
Trout and Carp fishing 20km
Bordeaux is easily reached by train or car for shopping and culture.
Skiing is easily accessible in the Pyrenees 4 hour drive
