Surrounding Area:  The hamlet sits among rolling hills and is surrounded by forest, sunflower/wheat/rapeseed fields depending on the season. A car is essential. Local shops are available in the small towns of Verteuil, Nanteuil and Aunac (approx. 10 minutes), with supermarkets and further selections of shops available in Ruffec (20 minutes), La Rochefoucauld and Civray (30 minutes) among others. There is a twice-weekly market in Ruffec, complemented by farmer's markets in the surrounding villages during the summer months. Depending on season, sightseeing options include numerous romanesque churches in the surrounding villages, the large abbey in Nanteuil, the chateau gardens in Verteuil, a sculpture garden in Bioussac, as well as the chateau and medieval centre of La Rochefoucauld. Angouleme, Poitiers and Cognac are easily reached by car in around 1 h. Lots of good restaurants within easy reach.
