The house is approximately 12 miles South of the River Lot (about 30 miles South of the Dordogne area), and 15 miles West of Cahors, a large and thriving market town, renowned for its excellent wine.

There are 3 bedrooms, one of which is on the ground, contains a good upright piano and may be used as a living room, to supplement the main kitchen/dining area.

Lafage has three bedrooms, sleeps 6-8 + cot, and is available with or without furtinure. There is a South-West facing sun terrace, with a barbecue, table, umbrella and chairs, overlooking the valley and distant château. Table-tennis can be played in the vaulted stone cellar.

Outside Amenities:  Lafage stands in 12 1/2 acres of woods and rough pasture and is approached by a long private drive, with lots of parking space near the house. The woods make a wonderful adventure playground for children and their parents. A small SW-facing terrace includes a rustic barbecue and the vaulted cellar contains a pingpong table. Garden table and chairs are provided.

Surrounding Area:  In the surrounding countryside there are many unspoilt historic towns, ancient Chateaux and several huge underground caves, including Peche-Merle. Golf, riding, fishing and canoeing are some of the local sporting attractions.

Montcuq is the local small hilltop town, with a striking 13th century tower, a most beautiful Bathing Lake, Tennis Courts, and a Swimming Pool. there are several shops, bakeries, a supermarket, a Post Office and a Bank. A colourful market takes place on Sunday mornings, providing a popular meeting place. Good and very reasonably priced restaurants are to be found in Lauzerte, Sauzet and of course Montcuq.
