Description of Property:   The house is a 4 storey (including the cellar) 130 year old villa, built by a local Glove factory owner as his own home in 1888. The architecture is unusual for the region and was heavily influenced by his travels around the world. This makes Le Petit Pre quite unique and a lovely surprise when you first see it. The house has a lovely well equipped kitchen/diner that sits 6 comfortably and 8 at a squeeze, but thats not an issue as there are so many wonderful places to eat outside at the house! The key area is the deck up by the barn that adjoins the under cover summer kitchen and 4 person hot tub area, with a couple of different cooking options and a table that seats up to 12 people. There are also 2 wooden picnic tables in the garden that seat up to 6 or 12 when placed together, so you can eat where you want! Inside the house is a dining hall, living room with all mod cons, downstairs toilet and lovely cellar bathroom with a roll top, claw foot bath and shower over. There is also a Samsung washer dryer and sink. By the front door, overlooking the pool are 2 x wonderful hammock seats, perfect for sundowner drinks watching the children play in the pool. The first floor has a master bedroom with super-king size bed with canopy over and a children's bunk room with LCD TV/DVD player and cot. There is also a shower room and toilet with a huge rainfall shower head, separate shower hose and double sized shower base - a wonderful place to soak, any time of day. Up the stairs to the top floor brings you to another king sized bed and a twin bedroom, again with LCD TV and DVD player - so you can see the house is perfectly set up for 2 x families of 4! The views from the top floor are lovely with glimpses of the town of St Junien to the East and the River Vienne to the front. The floors and and staircase are lovely old stained wood throughout and every room has a floor or desk fan, plus window shutters, to help keep you cool on those long summer days.

Outside the front of the house, the 8m x 4m in-ground private swimming pool is south facing, surrounded by a sun trap patio and is completely private, as it is surrounded by a 8 foot hedge! The depth is 1.5m throughout with a ladder, so safe for older children and adults but also surrounded by safety fencing and a self closing gate to keep toddlers and babies safe.

Overall, the house is a joy to stay in, with loads of lovely shabby-chic touches and plenty of space inside and out, for everyone young and old. You can eat in a different part of the huge garden every night, while the hot tub, cellar bath and rainfall shower give you enough luxury to help you to properly relax and enjoy your well earned holiday!

Outside Amenities:  The gardens that wraps around the house offers 4500 square metres of safe, fenced and friendly grassy & wooded space. There is a trampoline and swings/play area along with a 10m x 5m barn with snooker, table tennis, darts and basketball inside. The unheated swimming pool is 8m x 4m and 1.5m deep throughout, with a solar cover and safe winter cover, all contained within a safety fenced large patio area that is south facing and awesome for sunbathing on the provided sun beds. There are several seating and eating/picnic areas around the garden, with a relaxing outdoor sofa & armchairs patio area outside the back door, an outside kitchen attached to the barn with covered decked dining for 8 people and a covered area for the optional hot tub. Lovely.

Surrounding Area:  The nearest town, St Junien, is a short drive away with large hyper-markets on the outskirts. There are plenty of places to eat out, and lots of other shops to enjoy in the beautiful market town.

The surrounding area is very beautiful with lots of swimming and water sports lakes with beaches nearby, plus loads of places to walk and horse ride or hack, as well as chateaus and places of interest.
