Description of Property:   The Cottage Le Pigeonnier can welcome from 2 to 8 people with its 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Situated in the countryside at 3 km far from Eymet in the Dordogne in a 3-houses hamlet called Lauzanac.

Surrounded by fields and farm animals, Le Pigeonnier is open from September til June for long lets with a minimum of a 3 months rental. On weekly basis for July and August. Its private swimming pool is open in Spring and Autumn.

Ground floor

This original 18th century pigeonnier, now with all modern conveniences, offers a traditional style perigordine house.

The entrance, accessible from the covered terrace, overlooks an open kitchen turned to the fields through a glass wall resembling a workshop. It’s very well equipped: dish-washer, washing machine, microwave, hob, oven, american fridge, food processor, coffee maker, kettle, toaster …

The kitchen is open to the dining-room with a countryside table and chairs, ancient french style cupboard, desk with wired or wifi internet access, small library with information on the region ...

The living room in the extension of the dining-room, is furnished with two leather sofas, a coffee table, a library with dvd and books, a TV and a satellite for access to international TV channels, a french countryside cabinet, a wood stove with glass door that will let you enjoy the warmth of the flames during the winter evenings.

A double bedroom with a private bathroom. 1 king size bed, 2 bedside cabinets, 1 wardrobe with shelving and hanging.
In the bathroom 1 washbasin and a shower.
Accessible to the group, toilet close to a laundry.

The farmhouse cottage Le Pigeonnier is special because the first floor is divided into two parts to allow two families to be separate.

1st floor left

The hallway gives access to the blue bedroom and bathroom suite comprising 1 queensize bed, 2 bedside cabinets, 1 wall cabinet with wardrobe, drawers and shelves, 1 baby cot.
In the private bathroom 1 washbasin drawer unit, 1 bath, toilet.

1str floor right

From the dining room, up a second staircase, you reach a landing which opens on to the green bedroom with 1 double bed, 2 bedside tables, 1 chest of drawers, 1 imposing country style tall-boy.
An old mirror on the landing surrounded by the original bare stone, above an ancient basin hewn out of stone as well.

The other door on this landing is to a shower room with toilet, shower and basin. This one is to share with the 2nd floor bedroom.

Second floor

The staircase leads up to the children’s bedroom in the part which was formerly the pigeon loft. We have kept the ancient roof with the old oak beams as well as the old pigeon roosting boxes and the stone with the 6 holes where the birds went in and out (it is glazed now).

This yellow bedroom has 3 single beds, 2 bedside tables, 1 chest of drawers, 1 hanging cupboard with shelves.

Open all year round.

The farmhouse cottage Le Pigeonnier is equipped with gas central heating and an open fire – the wood comes from the farm. Included in the monthly rental.

Outside Amenities:  Garden and swimming-pool

The garden is about 1000m² and fenced with 2 covered terrace. One close to the house for the meals and one in the garden for the sun-loungers not far from the pool (8 x 4). Barbecue, swing, table tennis.

Surrounding Area:  Two farmhouse cottages in the south of the Dordogne. Called Farmhouse Cottage Les Chênes (The Oaks) and Farmhouse Cottage Le Pigeonnier (The Pigeon's House), each gite has its own secure private swimming pool (no visavis) and can each accommodate from 2 to 8/9 persons. With WIFI.

Situated 3 kilometres from the medieval bastide town of Eymet, near the River Dropt, Lauzanac is within visiting distance of several prehistoric sites such as Lascaux and Les Eyzies, castles such as Lanquais, Beynac and Monbazillac, and medieval towns such as Sarlat, Bergerac and Monpazier.

At 20 mn far from Bergerac airport or 100 km far from Bordeaux airport.
