Description of Property:   The house is an old stone built town house with a twisting oak staircase from top to bottom of its four storeys. The ground floor has a utility/laundry room and lots of storage space, plus a wc and washbasin; the first floor is a large, light and airy living room with dining area and built in kitchen area, and French windows on to the south facing terrace which is large enough for eating out or relaxing in the sun; the second floor has two double/twin bedrooms and a fitted bathroom with a shower, bath, wc and basin, and finally the top floor is an attic which can be used as an office or third bedroom.

The house has been renovated in 2002 and is insulated and double glazed with central heating but at the same time retains its character with exposed stone walls and the lovely turning staircase. Every window gives a view of the town or river in front or the hills surrounding the town behind.

Surrounding Area:  St Céré is a small country town that has a full range of facilities including shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. There is a market twice a week. It also has a cinema showing European and American films including new releases. There is an art gallery and a season of musical performances. There is also a swimming pool in the town (open air).

Nearby one has access to the famous sites of Rocamadour and the caves at Padirac, and there are animal parks etc to visit in the season.

St Céré is within easy reach of Cahors, Figeac and the Auvergne, or for touring further afield into the Dordogne or Limousin regions, either for property hunting or just visiting the attractive countryside, villages, vineyards and towns.

A booking deposit is requested immediately on making the reservation, but the amount varies depending on the length of the intended stay.
