Description of Property:   Le Petit Paris is a charming property set in a quiet cul de sac in a medieval village in South of France.
The owner first converted the original house nearly 20 years ago. It can sleep up to 6 people, has two bedrooms, and a sitting room with a sofa bed that can sleep an extra person.
There is a pretty bathroom with shower.
Downstairs the kitchen has space to eat and a compact kitchen area and a large larder cupboard.
The kitchen has a wood burning stove, which is perfect for chilly autumnal days and cold wintry ones.
There is wifi and telephone in the house.
There are gas bottles for cooking which are easy to replace. There is a boiler which works immediately providing hot water constantly.
Leading onto the patio area, secluded and shady – for ideal breakfasts and lunches, the additional house (the barn) which leads onto this patio area has been tastefully updated a couple of years ago.
There is a downstairs bathroom with shower, living room with double sofa bed, upstairs bedroom
With double bed and extra bed – suitable for children + can sleep up to two.
A glass door leads from the patio area into the house and a further French window looks out onto the magnificent garden area, an outside kitchen with barbecue can be found on this terrace area.
The garden is magnificent for children to play, and for time to relax and take stock. There is a table with lights around for easy summer meals and on the next level, a delightful swimming pool, compact yet terrific fun for children and adults alike. There are lights for evening swims when the weather is baking, which happens a lot in the South of France!
Both houses can be rented together and can easily sleep 8-10 people. Great for big families or friends and those wanting some shared time together along with some private time. The barn works really well in addition to the original house, which has the kitchen, so the fact that there is only an outside kitchen area, is not problematic. It also has a really easy barbecue which facilitates cooking in the summer.
Once in the garden, it is possible to walk up to the top of the hill where there is a truly magnificent view over the valley.
The owner has spent many years nurturing and creating the space and loves sharing it with friends who appreciate it.
The village has a shop which sells most things including meat and dairy products and vegetables, but the nearest supermarkets are a few miles away in St. Hypolyte or Anduze.

Getting There
You can fly to Montpellier or Nimes or take the train – Eurostar connects to Avignon in the summer months and is direct from London.
Local area is full of activities – canoing, sea side, mountains – the Cevennes and the historical town of Nimes and the Pont du Gard – a veritable smorgasbord of delights.

Surrounding Area:  The village is near Sauve, between the Roman towns of Nimes and Montpellier and 50 minutes from the coast. The village shop sells most things. There is a boulangerie and butcher comes on a Thursday.

The area of Languedoc Roussillon enjoys long hot summers and colder winters as the house is at the foot of the Cevennes mountains where skiing is possible in some months of the year. The scenery is majestic and varied. Within an hour you can be overlooking amazing gorges and canoeing down rivers or swimming in waterfalls. Alternatively for those who want more relaxation the sandy beaches are under an hour’s drive away. There are many rambling trails for keen hikers and for art lovers ample scope for visits to sites of cultural interest like the Roman amphitheatre in Nimes, or the Van Gogh Museum in Arles. The magnificent Pont du Gard is within easy reach.

Festivals and markets abound, particularly in the summer months and Avignon is a particular favourite with tourists.

Languedoc is a renowned region for fine wines and gastronomy, so treat yourself to delicious provencal cooking in any of the local restaurants.
