Surrounding Area: The countryside around Puy l'Evêque is stunning with the great river Lot flowing through the country side made up of vineyards and rolling hills. There are many good vineyards where you can sample the wines. Nearly every small town have open-air markets the year around. Canoeing on the river, horse riding or swimming in the large communal pool. The river has some great fishing. Cahors, the capital and also the name of the local wine, is not very far away. Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Toulouse are all worth a visit. Every village has their own fête sometime during the summer months. Stunning fire works display on the river in August.
