Description of Property:   “Maison Castera” is a delightful one storey house, nestled in the foothills of Puy l'Évêque on the North Bank of the river Lot. The main entrance, on the ground floor leads into a large well equipped kitchen which including a table and chairs and a wood burner. Stairs lead up to the rest of the accommodation on on the first floor. The main living area with dining table and chairs, sofas, sideboard, bookcases and T.V. are on this floor. Leading off at either end are the bedrooms. They consist of a twin room with en-suite bathroom and W.C. with the two bed children’s room leading off it. At the other end is is a double room with en-suite shower room with W.C.

Outside Amenities:  There is a pretty garden with lawn, shrubs and flowers, surrounding a swimming pool. Outside the kitchen area, there is a B.B.Q. with table and chairs. Loungers are provided around the pool. A balcony, which runs the length of the first floor, provides a wonderful view of the river and surrounding area. An outside stairway leads directly to the garden and pool. Table and chairs makes the balcony an ideal place for eating out.

Surrounding Area:  The surrounding area is hilly and wooded with many interesting walks with details provided by the local tourist offices. Local markets are held weekly Puy l'Évêque, Prayssac, Fumel, Montcuq, Libos,and many other towns in the area. Cahors has a large market twice a week and many historical places, e.g. the Cathedral, the Pont Valentre, the 15th century house of Henry1V, and evidence of the Roman era. Other places of interest include Chateau Bonaguil, the Presque cave, the Zadkine Museum in Les Arques.
