Description of Property: The apartment, although attached to the main house, is totally private. The property is approximately 250 years old. It has a large fully equipped kitchen, and a large sitting room with a dining area. The furniture is comfortable with sofa, chairs, sofa bed, large farmhouse dining table and well supplied kitchen. The property has 2 double bedrooms + sofa bed; a shower room; large sitting room with a dining area with further alcove. Bedding; linens and towels are supplied.
Outside Amenities: There is a large informal garden (mostly lawn) with outdoor furniture and B.B.Q. We have a paddock which could accommodate a small pony or other livestock.
Ancient woodlands surround the paddock on 2 sides. The fields which surround the property have cows and sheep as well as oilseed rape, sunflowers and cereal crops. There is a large variety of birds for enthusiasts and the spring flowers are magnificent. Also, several woodland walks and a back lane into the village.
Surrounding Area: Le Flouzet is situated an easy (flat) 1.5 kilometre walk from the village of Vasles. Vasles is a typical small market town with a restaurant; bar, a boulangerie, butcher, bank, small village supermarket and hardware store. There are two golf courses close by.
Poitiers airport (Ryanair from Stansted year round and Birmingham and Edinburgh April thru September) is 40 minutes away & La Rochelle airport is just over an hour away (served by several airlines). We are strategically located to visit the coast at La Rochelle through the Venise Verte, Futuroscope, and Saumur – home to the world famous Cadre Noir army horses; the Loire valley and Cognac are all within driving distance.
